Bird-hunting without a dog

Here, you and your hunting mates walk beside each other through the forest. Visibility here may be as little as 20 metres which means you have to shoot extremely fast if you yourself scare up the bird. On open ground, it’s the shotgun that decides how far you can shoot. If you’re lucky, the bird will fly up over one of your mates and he/she will have a few extra seconds to act. Obviously, to do this sort of hunting, you must be a trained marksman. Alternatively, you may see or hear that the bird has perched somewhere nearby and you can creep up on it.
